Melissa A. Dorman
ABOUT
Melissa Dorman is a partner in the Dallas office of Hartline,
Dacus, Barger, Dreyer & Kern, L.L.P., and joined the firm in 2001.
She has served a number of domestic and international manufacturers in
product liability and commercial litigation. Several of her clients are
in the sports arena; she has represented a football tee manufacturer, makers
of a pitching machine, and the manufacturer and distributor of stationary
exercise bikes. Ms. Dorman also defends tire and vehicle manufacturers,
appliance manufacturers, an injection molding equipment manufacturer, and
a manufacturer of glass bottles and containers.
Prior to joining HDBDK, Ms. Dorman practiced law in El Paso, Texas, in
the areas of commercial, medical malpractice, and insurance defense litigation.
She was named the "Outstanding Young Lawyer of El Paso for 1998-1999" by
the El Paso Bar Association, and is a past President of the El Paso Women's
Bar Association. She also worked for the Speaker of the Texas House of
Representatives from 1989 to 2001.
She has been a director of Texas Women Lawyers since 1999, and has served
on the council of the Women and the Law Section of the State Bar of Texas
since 2005. Both groups advocate the interests of women and their families
in the justice system and society. She is a member of the Defense Research
Institute and the Dallas Bar Association.
